Electronic learning (e-learning or elearning) is the type of education where the medium of education is computer technology. No intermediate human being is necessary for learning to take place. E-learning can be of various kinds. In a company scenario, it means the use of the company network to deliver training courses to employees. Generally, it covers any teaching/learning experience that makes use of the Internet and other computer-enabled technologies to reach learners at a distance. In the context of universities, e-learning refers to a course where the students only very rarely attend face-to face educational facilities. Such students are said to be studying online. The e-learning market all over the world is today worth about 38 billion euros (2008).
